🕯️ Candle Care

Q: How do I trim a wooden wick?
A: Trim the wick to about ⅛"–¼" before each burn. You can use a wick trimmer, nail clippers, or even pinch off the charred wood once it’s cooled. This helps the flame stay controlled and prevents sooting.

Q: Why won’t my wooden wick stay lit?
A: If the wick is too long or hasn’t been trimmed before burning, it can struggle to stay lit. Always trim the wick before each use and let the wax fully melt to the edges during the first burn.

Q: How long should I burn my candle?
A: For the first burn, allow the candle to melt across the entire surface (usually 2–3 hours) to prevent tunneling. After that, burn in increments of 2–4 hours at a time.

Q: What’s the best way to put out a wooden wick candle?
A: We recommend using a candle snuffer or gently blowing it out. Avoid using the lid to extinguish the flame, as it may damage the finish or trap smoke inside the jar.

Q: Is there anything special I should know about wooden wicks?
A: Wooden wicks create a beautiful, soft crackling sound and burn differently than cotton wicks. They require trimming before every use and burn a bit slower, giving you a cozy fireside feel with each light.
